Miyazawa et al., J Biol Chem 1998* Evidence: IL-1beta markedly induced the luciferase activity in the MH7A cells transfected with the luciferase reporter plasmid carrying the IL-6 promoter. The luciferase activity was significantly decreased when the region (-77 to -59bp) was deleted which includes the CBF1 consensus element. A 2bp mutation introduced into the CBF1 binding element also reduced the IL-1beta inducible activity to 68% where as it did not affect the basal activity.
