    Evidence: Platelet-derived growth factor may also be of importance at later stages of wound healing, since it stimulates contraction of collagen matrices in vitro (80, 159), implicating a role in wound contraction in vivo. Moreover, PDGF stimulates the production and secretion of collagenase by fibroblasts (32), suggesting a role in the remodeling phase of wound healing.
